Born in 1978 in Warsaw, Poland. Lives in Tokyo, Japan.Piggy costumes, dolls, needles and thread, it´s girl play material. Grown ups play too. In a city where restraint and seriousness are the rules that produce a collective harmony difficult to find elsewhere, at night some people leave their working suits and go play in the huge circus of sex. The choice is huge: fetish parties, fetish bars, happening bars, private sex parties,… The list of places, situations, events and people never ends. In Kinky city the fetish sex scene is so massive that it takes a long time to grasp the fire that pushes those adventurous and naughty boys and girls. People who look like real dolls, dolls who look like real people, hooks, dildos, ropes, leashes… Some of these sensations maybe are not as alien to people unfamiliar with those practices. The touch of leather, the strange pleasure of toying with a needle…
But what pleasure is there for a woman in being tied, and hung by skilled hands in the shibari art and penetrated with an incandescent candle? What obscure, hard to identify need does the woman´s husband fulfill? The swingers that just had sex with other couples, how do they dissociate love from sex? What´s the subtle enjoyment of being watched by the public while your girlfriend blows a guy and you ride the guy´s wife? It´s the quest for the unknown, maybe the forbidden, inconfessable dreams shared by people who find in Kinky city a goodness that allow her servants the elixir that no other city can provide.

Michal Giedrojc, photographer, uses what he sees. His main subject is the human being. He concentrates on characteristic, telling faces. There is no objectivity or attempt to present the real character of the person who stands in front of his camera. He’ll turn beauty into ugliness and ugliness into beauty.I love these, so moody, the mists, the cloudy skies. Add that extra element: whirling leaves, floating ballons, the birds and in each the receding, disappearing horizon. To me they are about isolation, a small human being in a vast world.

Photographer Josef Schulz

Josef Schulz is a "photographer" of modern warehouses and factories - trite industrial buildings that nobody would want to consider to be of any major architectural interest. All over the world these buildings are mass-produced, built for all kinds of industrial production processes using identical plans and blueprints. Their exteriors offer no hint whatsoever of the specific purposes for which they are used, their façades vary only in terms of the materials selected - all of them pre-fabricated, such as slabs of concrete, corrugated sheet metal and other cheap building materials.
Josef Schulz does not aim at exposing this architecture in any way nor does he want to venture into a critical analysis of its appearance. He simply uses the photographs of the buildings to study the grammar of his trade. Schulz starts by taking traditional photographs of the halls, storage facilites and industrial structures with large sized photographic plates. Using digital image processing, the analogue picture produced is then "cleansed" of the few remaining hints pointing to age, location or environment of the buildings. All details that might possibly allow conclusions concerning the actual size, users, time or place of the buildings are completely removed. The physical reality of the buildings is changed in such a way that they seem to become virtual blueprints designed to perfection. Schulz focusses on colours and shapes reducing them to simple block-like structures. Particular emphasis is given to symmetries, colour contrasts and the overall structure of the image: they thus become dominant components of the picture. The buildings now ressemble toy architecture; they suddenly appear to be benign counterparts of themselves.

Photographer Sylwana Zybura

Madame Peripetie aka Sylwana Zybura is a photographer and linguist based in Germany and UK working internationally on diverse art projects and for various independent magazines. She explores the boundaries between fashion, sculpture and the human body, experimenting with various fabrics and patterns; whilst infusing high fashion elements with abstract and conceptual ideas, creating an eccentric escapade of colour and texture. In her work she is focusing on character design and it’s influence on modern fashion photography. Her inspirations include surrealism, dadaism as well as postmodernism (the new wave era of the 80s) and the avant-garde theater of Robert Wilson.

Why is it that the ones who don’t give a shit are the ones we want to be like the most? Magda goes with the flow with no apologies, in a drape-y dress from Shareen’s Vintage and a cozy sweater (which she got from a “skater dude” in Long Beach). Wearing a black leather jacket that she traded a gray t-shirt for, she radiates All-American cool, even though she didn’t learn a word of English until the third grade. Magda picked up bits and pieces from Aladdin and Saturday morning cartoons– so that she could tell the girls who called her “bitch” in first grade, before she even understood the word: “Fuck you, you’re the bitch!” Everything in her closet is the embodiment of the real Los Angeles, of Echo Park, where she lives and works– Daisy Dukes and cowboy boots in the Summertime, jeans for rolling around in the mud while shooting photos. Of the easy, breezy lifestyle of Los Angeles, Magda says, “you can drive an hour South and you’re in the desert, an hour West you’re at the beach, an hour East you’re snowboarding in the mountains, and an hour North you’re riding a roller coaster at Six Flags.”
“I don’t like to pre-think shit too much– just go with it.” As a photographer, Magda understands the importance of “the moment.” This extends to the rawness of her captivating photography. Having fewer expectations is her most current head space for success and Magda lives her life like she’s taking a photograph. She bought her enchanting house on the spot with her savings for the car of her dreams, a ’68 Chevelle. Today it is her own slice of Americana, a place where she can relax in her red, white, and blue jeans and army jacket and work– and, once she gets her chickens to go with the garden she’s working on (despite some fits and starts– “I’ve got a black thumb,” she says, not discouraged), she’s “never fucking leaving.” She loves waking up to the breeze through the windows, putting on Led Zeppelin, lighting some incense and throwing on a fringe shawl with leopard-print hip-huggers, “How are you ever gonna be a bitch or in a bad mood?” she says. Not to mention the company of her two dogs, Bob and Captain Pickles, both of whom were found while hiking and having lunch respectively. Mr. Pickles chose his own name from several Magda tried out for him.
Magda splits her time between photography and music. “I do not sing. I play guitar. I sit in the corner and headbang a lot,” she says of her music, which is equal parts Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. There are no high heels in her collection of worn-in leather boots and shoes (“Carrying eighty pound amps in heels? Back problems for life!”) and there’s no turning off her instincts as a photographer. When she and her band are being photographed, she’s still looking for control, setting up the shots. A total tomboy who picked up a love for skateboards and dirt bikes in Arizona, Magda was supposed to be a boy named Adam. Neither she nor her parents have any regrets– when she was just learning to skate, she took her Dad to the park to show her what she could do. All he could ask, stunned, was: “How do you just get back up after you fall down all the time?” The answer is obvious to me: Magda says her parents are the coolest people in the world, just like her.

Photographer Tomasz Gudzowaty

Tomasz Gudzowaty was born in 1971 and studied law at the University of Warsaw. He began his photographic career with nature photography, later turning to social documentary. For the past few years he has focused on sports photography and is particularly interested in non-commercial sports - those that are exotic, atypical or outside the media mainstream. His photos have been published in Max magazine, L'Equipe, The Guardian, Newsweek, Time and Photo. Gudzowaty is a multiple winner of the profession's premier contests, including eight previous World Press Photo awards, as well as Pictures of the Year and NPPA Best of Photojournalism awards. He has exhibited worldwide and published several photo books. He is associated with Yours Gallery in Warsaw, where he lives, with Focus Photo und Presseagentur in Hamburg and the Stephen Bulger Gallery in Toronto.

Rinko Kawauchi (川内 倫子, Kawauchi Rinko, born 1972) is a Japanese photographer, shooting mostly in 6×6 format.
