Photographer Finlay MacKay

Born and raised in Scotland, Finlay MacKay studied photography at the Glasgow School of Art before moving to London in 1998. In 1999 he began assisting noted photographer Elaine Constantine, a relationship that would last for 4 years.
Finlay began working professionally in 2003. His first photographs revealed a highly original style, drawing upon dynamic action, group portraiture, street art, and illustration, as well as classical forms of painting.
He was immediately commissioned by Diesel to execute the "Work Hard" campaign, that would earn him and the KesselsKramer agency three bronze lions at the Cannes Festival.
His imagination, technical knowledge and lighting skill have led to Finlay's recognition as one of new generation of elite photographers working today. He is a regular contributor to The New York Times, TIME, Wired and GQ.
Finlay has photographed some of today's top athletes, entertainers and celebrities including Jeff Bridges, Usain Bolt, Sacha Baron Cohen, Steve Buscemi, Michael Phelps, Julianne Moore, Ricky Gervais, Javier Bardem, Serena Williams, Ke$ha, Kid Rock, Steve Nash, Courtney Love, Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire and Ben Stiller.
His advertising clients include Absolut, Puma, Polartec, Vitamin Water, Bacardi, Umbro, Nike, Adidas, Olympus, Coca Cola, British Telecom, Pepsi, Channel 4, Sky TV, ITV, Lenovo, The English National Opera and Harrods.
Finlay lives between New York and London.
