Photographer Myriam Abdelaziz

Myriam Abdelaziz is a French photographer of Egyptian origins.
She received a BA in Political Science, a Master in Journalism and a MBA. After 7 years of work in the Marketing field, Myriam left the corporate world to fully dedicate herself to photography.
She graduated from the International Center of Photography and has been based in New York since 2005.
After being named in 2009, by the Magenta Foundation, one of the 25 Emerging Photographers in the USA, Myriam decided to start splitting her time between Cairo and New York to start visually exploring the land of her origins.
Myriam’s work tells stories of its participants - subjects ranging from Native American reservation life in the southwest, party goers in NYC, to survivors of the Rwandan genocide… Her inquiry into the stories of people takes her around the globe searching for stories that overcome physical and cultural barriers and often reveal what we have in common: glimpses of solitude, hope, insecurity, dignity. Her work captures moments where something inner is revealed.
Her work was published in Time magazine, Fluter, Time Out London, Marie-Claire, Popular Science, Ojodepez, Images Magazine, Epoca Negocio ,The National, Raw Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Eyemazing, Adbusters, Courrier International, La Republica del Donne, La Dominica di Republica, Tecknicart, The British Journal of Photography, American Photography and was featured in solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
Myriam is currently mainly working on Documentary and Portraiture stories in the Middle East.
