Eric T. White is an American photographer based in New York City.
Primarily focused on portraiture and landscape, Eric's work is about capturing fleeting moments. He is especially adept at reading people and capturing specific moods and feelings.
He is inspired by the contrast of black and white lithographs, the lighting of Baroque and Dutch masters and the authenticity of historical, war and documentary photography.
Eric spent his formative years moving from place to place and lived in Germany during his adolescence. He credits much of his photographic inspiration to his exposure to different cultures and ideas at an early age.
As a child, Eric's 110 camera was his constant companion. After he had enrolled in art school without a clear idea of what he would study, Eric's uncle died, leaving Eric all of his cameras. This inheritance led him to seriously pursue a career in photography.
Once he had moved to New York, Eric's love of making images kept him focused even when there was no money for public transportation and ramen noodles were the only meal in sight. He spent four years learning from Christopher Griffith's technical expertise as his first assistant.
Eric is currently working on a portrait series based on the Lower East Side, a black and white landscape series and his first book.
